Michael J. Litrel, MD is a Board Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist. He practices at Cherokee Women's Health Specialists with offices in Canton and Woodstock, Georgia. Dr. Litrel received his medical degree and residency training at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society.
Dr. Litrel is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Emory University where he trains residents and medical students at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. He is also is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Medical College of Georgia located in Augusta, Georgia. Dr. Litrel has extensive surgical experience in laparoscopic and advanced pelvic reconstructive surgery and specializes in high-risk and normal obstetrics. He currently serves as the Chief of Surgery at Northside Hospital-Cherokee.
Michael Litrel serves as the Chairman of the Cherokee County Board of Health and volunteers at the Cherokee County Health Department caring for indigent pregnant women. The doctor has recently begun to serve as Medical Director of The Hope Center, a pregnancy crisis intervention center.
Dr. Litrel coined the phrase 'Less Medicine—More Healing©' to express his conviction that faith and prayer is essential for health, healing and happiness. He views the miracle of healing as scientific evidence of God and always describes physicians as witnesses - never as healers.
